I enjoy the elliptical very much. I am 280 pnds and this machine is very sturdy for even me. That being said I almost broke my back trying to get it in the house with then one guy sent to deliver it. It was free delivery to anywhere in house. As long as I was helping. I was told he would not help me get it upstairs, That was my job. This was the only draw back to my experience.

Excellent low impact workout for one looking for overall fitness improvement.
Versatile, upper or lower body can be targeted.
Very stable and quiet, it can be used anytime without waking/disturbing others.
Best if it can be used on the ground floor as it is large and heavy. However, that is what provides the stability, so it's more than worth it.
Product was delivered undamaged on the estimated delivery date. Good job.

recieved about two monthes ago. Set up was fairly simple. Machine works well is smooth and solid. It is quit large so make sure there is adequete space. My only complaint is that the "pause" does not last long enough before the machine turns off.

I use this product daily. It is a professional grade machine that I purchased for under 500 dollars. I love using this machine. I did some comparison shopping before my purchase and this product listed originally for 2800 dollars. It's solid,sturdy and what a workout! This machine is A+ in my book!
Delivery took about 2 weeks. The delivery guy unloaded and put it into the basement for me. It took 60 to 90 min to put it together and that was it. I love it!

This is a very heavy duty machine, the package weighed 350+lbs. It runs very smoothly and quietly and has a great menu to choose different workouts. It is very large, near 8 feet long so consider placement carefully. It is not the easiest thing to put together about 3-4 hours. At first I thought it pointed down to much but I have gotten used to it. Love it, it makes getting a great workout very easy.

Was happy to find that this elliptical can be used for the entire family's needs. We have two teenagers that can use it for longer distances and fast movements but it also works for my bad back to go low impact. It is so quiet which is a big plus.

I used to workout a lot, but have been unable to lately. It's cold and rainy here so it is difficult to do anything outside. I love this machine. I am able to get a good sweat going and have the option of many preprogramed routines, at different levels, to get into my target heart rate and burn calories. It is a good size machine with moving parts, so it's hard to say it's quiet, but I wouldn't call it loud. We watch movies while on it for 30-40 mins. The cool down at the end of the programs is great. Stepping off the machine and not having to catch your breath is a great feeling. The machine does wobble when you are on a sprint, but that is what you give up by having a portable unit. Overall, this is an excellent addition to our home gym and I am so glad to had found Mercantila online and had gotten a great price on an excellent machine.

Yes...it is big and takes up space. And a bit of struggle to get it down to the basement and then putting it together, we realized it will stay there forever. But, why would you want to store it? It's a fitness center quality machine that brings it: Easy to use; sturdy; excellent feedback. And you certainly can't beat the closeout price!

This a great professional type unit. It has all the bells and whistles we need.
The assemby went great as the screws aligned exactly but the 2 links d-shafts didn't and I had to disassemble the factory assembly to get them aligned. The console didn't fit over the bar because the plastic mold had flashing that had to be whittled out to make it fit. These are the only problems I had with the assembling. Overall, the rest went together exceptionally well and we are very pleased with the product. A down side is that once it is in place, it is too heavy to move.

Great Cardio work out. Love the heart rate monitor. Beeps every minute and makes it nice for the count down to zero.
Delivery prompt, but product is VERY HEAVY. Once it's set up, you won't move it around much.

I was skeptical from the beginning that I will get gym quality equipment for this money [...] . But this is what I wanted. The size is huge. No problem to assembly , and it is quiet. I am 235 pounds and 6.02 ft. , and this size is right for me. It was slight problem that display stopped working when I stopped pedaling. Then I realised that battery in display are rechargable so You need few minutes to work out first.

This is commercial quality equipment. The base is sturdy and the machine is quiet. This has a 20" stride which is difficult to find. I found the directions easy to follow and it only took me 1 hour to put it together by myself (I'm a girl). I have had it for a week , and I have not found anything I don't like about it. I have already recommended this machine to several friends. Completely satisfied.

I received the eliptical last week and put it together in about two hours. It was not too difficult, although a little time consuming. The machine is very large, but has similar quality to elipticals in the gyms. It is strong and sturdy. So far, I enjoy it. I have no problem getting my heart rate up. Pretty big thing (quite long) and heavy. Put it together alone though was heavy to move around/manipulate and would have been easier with 2 people but not complicated.
Operation is smooth and high settings are quite challenging.
After reading other reviews and using this product, I would say reviews have been accurate and machine is really very good.
This is a steal at the close out price.

Use the elliptical several times a week. I love the work out programs and resistance levels. It is comprable to ones at the gym. It is quiet and sturdy. The only issue we have had so far, is that the machine is very heavy. It does have wheels but it still needs to be lifted from the front to move the machine (it took my husband and a friend to move). Overall, we would definitely buy this elliptical again.

Assembly: Although this machine comes partially assembled, the rest of the assembly may seem considerable to some. If you are not good with tools or are not very mechanical, get some help. It will be worth it. I am very mechanical and it took me about an hour with no problems. Excellent and clear instructions.
Great machine. I have used commercial / gym machines and this seems to be just as smooth and substantial. Computer, heart rate monitor, programs, etc. all excellent. I can't imagine a better machine for the money.
Delivery was as promoted. They called before delivery and we gave them permission to leave it. Caution: It is HEAVY, as indicated in the promo. After unpacking the big box, most of the parts were manageable. The main component took two guys and a hand truck to handle.

The Avari GX8 is a large and sturdy elliptical machine. The potential user will need an area about 9 feet long and 4 feet wide dedicated to the device. It is a very sturdy machine constructed of solid, heavy gauge steel. It looks and feels like a piece of commercial gymn equipment. The machine operates quietly and smoothly. One unusual feature of this elliptical is that the computer display is powered by the motion of the machine. It does not require any external power source. The monitor offers a plethora of workout programs based upon power levels from 1 to 20. The user can also manually control the power level as they exercise. Overall, the Avari GX8 appears to be a very well made machine with excellent features that represents a true value when compared to competitors.

This is a great elliptical, especially for the price. It was highly recommended by Consumer Reports, which is what drove my decision to purchase this particular elliptical. The price was an added bonus! The machine is very sturdy. It did, however, begin to squeak on my second use. According to the manual, you have to apply lithium grease to the elliptical. We have done this, and so far it has worked.
Please be advised, that it is a large machine and it will not fit in small spaces. It is very quiet and has a variety of programs to use. It is also self-powered, meaning you don't have to plug it in. This was another reason we chose this particular model. as we have small children in the house :)
